Book Review of "Steve Jobs" by Walter Isaacson
Book Review of “Steve Jobs”
Author - Walter Isaacson
How I Came Across This Book:- I have been reading books since the summer of 2018 and in those 5 years of reading, I have read almost all major genres except Biographies and Memoirs. So back on 24 February 2022, I bought Steve Jobs biography written by Walter Isaacson for INR 400. Steve Jobs was one of the best and greatest innovators, leader, and CEOs of all time. Steve Jobs biography written by Walter Isaacson was first published in 2011 in hardcover and then in 2015 in paperback.
Almost everybody in the present-day world
knows that Steve Jobs was the man who made companies like Apple and Pixar, but
few of us know about NeXT which is also a company founded by Steve which turned
out to be a failure. His habit of being a perfectionist gave us products like the
Mac, iPod, iPhone, iPad, eye-pleasing graphical interfaces for computers etc.
in the PC and technology world. He also gave us animated movies like Cars, Toy
Story, Monsters Inc., and Finding Nemo.
Steve Jobs in my view was the first
superstar of Silicon Valley. So I always wanted to know more about him and I
think reading his biography written by Walter Isaacson is the best to do so.

This book opens up on every incident that
happened in the life of Steve. This book is filled with immense detail and also
shares the perspective of his coworkers, employees, friends and people around
him. This biography will help you to know the personality of Jobs and what people
around him think about him.
This book neither overpraises nor defames
Steve Jobs. It just allows the reader to decide what he or she thinks
about Jobs. This book is filled with incidents where you will think of Jobs as
a great man and leader and at some time you will think of him as a jerk, stubborn
and short-tempered person.
Walter Isaacson also shed some light on sensitive
incidents from Jobs' life. His relationship with Chrisann and Lisa is one such
incident, and you will get Steve’s perspective of the situation and of Chrisann and other people.
After finishing this book you may have
different thoughts on Steve Jobs because on social media we saw him only as the
CEO of one of the world's biggest companies but this book shows you Steve as a
son, a father, a brother, a husband, a friend and a person. And when you read
this book you will surely feel yourself as a part of the journey of an abandoned
child who becomes a legend.

lessons from Steve Jobs's life.
·
This book is the perfect biography of
Steve Jobs in the current market.
Drawbacks of This Book:-
·
The font size is very small.
·
The book is too long and even after the
small font size this book is 531 pages long(Indian Subcontinent Paperback Version).
·
The detailing in the book may feel
good and engaging sometimes but lousy and boring at many times making the reader
lose interest in a few of the chapters.
Conclusion:- we common
people after listening to and receiving some social media posts think that
achievers in our world are god-like personalities and they achieve greatness because
they were meant to. This perception led us to feel inferior to them and we
started to think that if we had the abilities and luck to become like them. but
after this book, I can say that all these great personalities are humans just
like us and they also made mistakes like us, but the difference they make is
that they just don’t think about their goals and make plans about them and do
nothing. They execute their plans and as a result either they succeed in them
or learn something from them. This is a great biography and I will rate it as a ‘Must Read’ and
give it a score of 95 out of 100.
